MercedesLouise will again be at Balmain Markets this Saturday.
Mother’s day is coming fast, only 1 week! I asked my mother what she would like, she said “I want a bag that has a large pocket on the front for my journal to be in easy reach.” So I have started making up different designs for my mother to choose from.
One of our favourite places to relax around our home is the back porch. We have our resident Lorikeets that fly down each day for a snack followed by a Honey Eater. We have a possum who comes to visit from time to time and take up residence in the birdhouse which upsets the Lorikeets who squawk like mad trying to evict the poor possum. A Koookaburra sits on the fence in the afternoon enjoying the performance from them all waiting to see if we throw him some meat or chicken to feed on.

My favourite visitors are the Water Dragons, who lay around the edge of the pool soaking up the sun; occasionally they climb the trees and sometimes climb into the birdhouse and sun themselves on the feeding tray. So far the lorikeets have not discovered the water dragons in their house, I don’t know how they would take another visitor invading their house!! We throw small pieces of apple for the dragons to nibble on, they look so funny the way they walk on their legs running to grab their snack. I love watching the dragons swim in our pool, they dive to the bottom and glide back and forth or simply sit on the floor of the pool for hours before popping their heads above the water.

Just a quick posted today. I thought everyone would like to know that over the next 2 months you will see new designs from MercedesLouise that we are very exicted to show you soon.
A young girl from my old school is coming over to interview me about MercedesLouise and how I left school to follow my dreams to be a handbag designer. I shall put up photos from the interview next week, so stay turned.

I am slowly finishing new designs for my website.
I love simple designs and this heart bag made from soft leather is so romantic.

Again the bag is made from soft leather and a favourite with my friends.

Keep checking out my website over the next month as new styles are added.
It has been awhile since I participated in a Tablescape Thursday or Pink Saturday. We have been on a family holiday to Norfolk Island; you can catch some photos of this beautiful place in my previous blog post on my website.

I need quiet spots in our house just to sit and read with a cup of tea, to contemplate and find inspiration for my designs.

This chair and table are one of my favourite pondering places. As the weather is so hot here at the moment it can be very unpleasant outdoors during the day. Only in the early evening it is perfect to sit outside and catch the cool breeze.
As I am posting this for Pink Saturday as well I couldn’t resist showing my new bag design that fits perfectly with the pinks. This leather bag has become my new favourite bag as it carries so much and is so comfortable to wear.

Mum and I have a passion for these cups with the extended saucer, I think they are referred to as tennis cups. Perhaps someone can tell me the correct name.

Don’t you love the tiny biscuits? Mum found them one day when out shopping, but sorry she can’t remember where for me to pass on the information.

This one is so cute with the bird in flight inside the cup.

Mum found the teapot at Caterbury Lace located at Warringah Mall in Sydney.
Now the table is set and the tea made, it’s time for me to sit and savour the moment while I work on a new design; perhaps I will just sneak a moment to flip the pages of the magazines.

This is one of Mum’s favourite Santas, by Jim Shore of Heartwood Creek.

The painting Mum found at a flea market in New York a few years ago.

White milk glass candlesticks are another of her favourites.

I couldn’t help adding one of my Summer bags from my website to the photo.
